TOTAL FOOTY CHAMPIONSHIP RULEBOOK

Lateness
Players are advised to arrive 5 minutes ahead of their scheduled kick-off time. If a player(s) is delayed, their match will commence without them. If the majority of a team is delayed, their match will be at risk.

Matches
Each match consists of 2 x 20 minute halves. There are no stoppages added.

Half Time
Half time break is two minutes. Play can start regardless if the opposing team is ready.

Fouls
Any foul will be rewarded in a direct free kick.
A foul will be given if a player commits a 'careless', 'reckless' or 'excessive force' foul.
A foul will be given for a deliberate hand ball or a if a player's hand is hit in an unnatural position.
A foul committed inside the penalty area will result in a penalty.

High Foot
A 'high foot' is judged as a player's foot extending beyond waist-height with the studs showing. A high foot results in a foul against the offending player. This will be classed as 'careless' or - in extreme cases - as 'excessive force'.

Slide Tackles
Any slide tackle made within 1 metre of an opposing player will be given as a direct free kick.

Yellow Cards
If a yellow card is shown, a player will be sin binned for 2 minutes,
Yellow cards will be shown if a player commits a 'reckless' foul - or multiple (3+) careless fouls.
A yellow card will be shown for aggressive behaviour.
A yellow card will be given for a deliberate handball.
Abusing the referee will result in a yellow card.
2 yellow cards will result in a red card - the player will not play any further part in that match and their team will finish the game with 6 players. The player will not be suspended for following games.

Red Cards
A red card will be shown for violent behaviour, or a dangerous tackle ('excessive force').
A red card will be given for a deliberate handball that denies a goal or clear goalscoring opportunity.
A red card will result in the player not playing any further part in that match and their team will finish the game with 6 players. The player will be suspended for the next week.

Free Kicks
Players must be at least 3 yards away.
Free kicks may be taken early, before the referee has moved the wall back 3 yards, but this is at the attacker's risk of hitting the wall.

Kick-Ins
Once the ball has left the field of play, the player will kick the ball in.

Goal Kicks
Goal kicks can be thrown or kicked by the goalkeeper, the ball does not have to exit the penalty area.
A goalkeeper can dribble the ball out as their goal kick. As soon as they have kicked the ball once they will be able to be tackled.
Goalkeepers cannot score from a goal kick.

Substitutions
The referee must be notified whenever there is a substitution of an outfield player.
Substitutions may only take place when the ball is not in play.

Time Wasting
If a player is guilty of wasting time, the referee will ask them to hurry, they will then have 5 seconds to restart play. If the player takes longer than 5 seconds, the non-offending team will be awarded the free kick/ kick in. If this occurs at a goal kick, a corner will be awarded.

Restarts
After a goal, play will resume from a goal kick. At the start of the game or after half-time, play will start from the centre.

Goalkeeper Area
Players can enter the goalkeeping area, goalkeepers can exit the goalkeeping area.

Pass-Backs
Goalkeeper must not pick up a pass-back but can catch or pick up a header.

Penalties
Penalties are to be taken with one step run up.
Goalkeepers must stay on their line for the penalty.

Abusive/Bad Behaviour
In the event of persistent or extreme abuse or bad behaviour, the referee has the power to abandon the game which may result in the disqualification of one or both teams from the competition.
